French Food
French dishes are generally seen mostly with sea food and the Mediterranean food culture is also felt. I have listed the famous traditional dishes of the French for you.
Bouillabaisse
We are here with the Mediterranean French style Bouillabaisse dish. It is a traditional fish stew from the port city of Marseille, France.
Traditionally, the dish is a stew containing red scorpionfish (a type of goby), angler fish, and Mediterranean fish such as wild snapper, red snapper, sea chicken, haddock, mullet, eel, sea bream.
In addition to the variety of fish, there are several ingredients that give the real taste of the dish. These are: flowering saffron, sweet and aniseed fennel, and a fine zest of orange. The French flavored the dish with the ingredients of the orange peel.
Ratatouille
I once watched an animated movie about the adventurous life of a mouse who cooks. As can be understood, Ratatoille is one of the popular dishes of the French. Ratatoille, which is an oak dish, is actually a boiled vegetable dish that we know.
In the past, it was eaten with rice, pasta or dipped in bread as a peasant dish, but later it was served in good restaurants in France with a few small additions to the recipes.
Ratatouille is made by cooking onions, garlic, tomatoes and spices in olive oil until soft or lightly browned and served with thyme and parsley. It is a delicious vegetarian dish.
Baba au Rhum
How to pronounce Baba au Rhum I have no idea, but looking at its picture made me hungrier. These sweet little yeast dough sponge cakes are filled with raisins or currants and baked in a ring mold and dipped in rum. The hole in the middle of the cake is filled with pastry cream, fresh fruit or whipped cream. A complete feast of taste. Actually, this dessert has a story. According to the story, the name of this cake is that the King pours a drink on Gugelhuph, which he ate while reading the Arabian Nights, and a new dessert is formed. The king named the dessert Ali Baba, one of the characters of the Arabian Nights.
Soupe à l'oignon
Soupe à l'oignon A traditional old-fashioned soup made with onions and broth. The soup base is usually made with slices of (toasted) bread and served with melted cheese on top. Its history dates back to Roman times, and onion soup was a rural folk dish at that time. Its history dates back to the 18th century.
